Quick Answers
How do I add my first maintenance task?
Open Templates, pick a built-in chore (for example HVAC filter or smoke alarms), set the first due date and interval, optionally add a location in home, then add the task. It appears on the Calendar with status dots and in All Tasks.
What do the calendar dots mean?
Gold = due soon (within your due-soon threshold). Red = overdue. A teal circle marks today. If all tasks are paused, the calendar shows no dots until you resume them.
Reminders are not showing
Reminders are off by default. Enable them in Settings → Reminders, grant POST_NOTIFICATIONS if prompted, and choose remind-before (1 / 3 / 7 days) and a time. Per-task reminders only fire when the global reminders setting is on.
Pause vs Archive — what’s the difference?
Pause temporarily hides a task from calendar dots. Archive retains history but removes the task from active lists and reminders.
How do I export, import, or clear data?
Use Settings → Export / Import for CSV (tasks + completion records), full JSON backup, or JSON restore (validates schemaVersion). Use Settings → Clear all data to wipe local content. Uninstalling generally removes local app data from the device.
Does HomeKeep use the internet or book contractors?
V1.0 does not declare the INTERNET permission, stores data locally, and has no contractor marketplace or IoT integration. See our Privacy Policy.
Is this a licensed home inspection?
No. HomeKeep Calendar is a personal maintenance tracker. Interval defaults are suggestions — adjust them for your home and equipment. It does not replace licensed inspections or warranty service.
